REFLECTIONS IN ART + CULTURE

Russian Bio-Robot THE IRON GLOVE

During the arms race of 1956, the Soviets implemented a project code-named the"Желе́зо Варежки" (Iron Glove), a crossbreed between a machine and living organism; a dog.

Based on Dr. Sergey Sergeyevich Bryukhonenko's ground breaking Experiments in the Revival of Organisms, a functional prototype was completed in just two years.

The film featured below documents some early Russian scientific experiments with the resuscitation of animals by Dr. S.S. Bryukhonenko at the Institute of Experimental Physiology and Therapy,Voronezh, U.S.S.R. [1]
